Step 1
Fry the onion and garlic in a little oil for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add the remaining sauce ingredients, excluding the cornflour, and bring to a simmer.
1/2 Onion
2 Garlic cloves
100 ml Pineapple juice
2 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp Ketchup
1 tbsp Soy sauce
2 tbsp Brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp Jack Daniel’s
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch Cayenne pepper
100 ml Water
Step 2
Simmer for 10–15 minutes while you prepare everything else, stirring occasionally. Once the sauce is almost done, add the cornflour mix if it is too runny.
1 tsp Cornflour
Step 3
While the sauce simmers, divide the beef mince into 4 equal portions and smash into thin patties. Season generously with salt and pepper.
250 g Beef mince
Salt
Pepper
Step 4
Cook the patties in a very hot frying pan for around 2 minutes per side, adding the cheese during the final minute so it melts. Cook the bacon alongside until crispy.
1 slice Reduced fat cheese
2 Bacon medallions
Step 5
Toast the brioche buns and build each burger with mayo, red onion, rocket, two cheesy beef patties, and bacon.
2 Brioche burger buns
2 tbsp Light mayo
Red onion
1 handful Rocket
Step 6
Spoon a generous layer of warm Jack Daniel’s sauce onto each plate. Cut the burgers in half and place them cut-side-down directly into the sauce. Drizzle with a little extra sauce and finish with sesame seeds.
Sesame seeds
Step 7
We served ours with some french fries.

Sorry maybe a daft question but for the sauce, do you mean actual Jack Daniels spirit or like some JD sauce?

Not daft at all! It’s actually Jack Daniel’s whiskey :) it really adds to the flavour! If you can get hold of the mini bottles it would be ideal for this recipe! Xx
